Meet The Supplier - Glitz Band

I thought we'd kick off the Meet The Supplier series this year with one of our new suppliers, the very talented Glitz band.....

What's your business called and who makes up your business, introduce us to the people in your business?
Glitz  Band formed by Mairi , Simon and Jack Newberry. We are a family run business.

Tell us about your business, what services do you provide for weddings, are these available for other events or occasions?
We provide musical entertainment for your evening, with music spanning all decades and Ceilidh, getting all your guests up and dancing. At the beginning of the evening we can start with the Grand March and your very special first dance , and finish the evening with your favourite tunes.

What's your favourite part of the job? Is there a part that you really look forward to or enjoy?
We love every part of the process, from the moment we receive an enquiry , to meeting up to help plan the evening , to performing and making our clients party special.

What sets you apart from your competitors? Why should prospective clients choose you?
We are extremely friendly and we play everything. Our band can go from 3 to 8 piece , so we are budget friendly and we have decades of experience , extremely high quality musicians, amazing vocalists, our drummer was trained by BeyoncĂ©’s drummer , so she is fantastic. We come with an amazing light show, fantastic sound crew and a DJ. We just love to ensure we give a night to remember.

Do you have an unusual, interesting or funny story about your business/previous clients?
We love to do a Ceilidh dance and watch people having a great time on the dance floor and learning a new skill.

Which wedding exhibitions are you attending in 2017?
The Little Wedding Book Show at Elphinstone Hall on 19th February and Dedicated 2 Wedding Show at the Beach Ballroom, in April and October.

Have you won any awards or accolades? what for and when? Do you have a claim to fame? Have you worked for a celeb?
We have worked for a number of millionaires and played at Gleneagles. Our drummer has played in the Royal Albert Hall, and trained with BeyoncĂ©’s drummer.

Do you have a top tip(s) for couples getting married in the North East of Scotland?

Take your time and enjoy your day , relax and allow us to provide the party….
